Governors Introduction
Welcome to the Governors page of our website
The Governing body is a team of volunteers that have the important job of looking at the overall direction of the school. It is made up of representatives from the Local Education Authority, the local Church, members of staff and elected parents.
We meet as a Governing Body about twice each term, and each governor will also be a member of a sub-committee looking at various aspects of the school. In addition, some governors take a particular role supporting particular areas in the school, such as Special Needs or Numeracy. Minutes of the Governing body are available to read at the school.
Whilst recognising that children start school at different stages of their development, with different interests and abilities, we are committed to helping the school ensure that the children achieve the best education possible.
In addition, we aim to support the staff in providing the very best opportunities for each child to develop personally, socially and intellectually into a caring and responsible citizen. In this preparation for future life, we are keen to provide a rich and relevant education with equal opportunities for all children regardless of social background, physical abilities, gender, race, creed or religion.
We believe that to be successful in achieving this we must all – parents, school staff and governors – work together in partnership for the benefit of each child.
