Our Geography Vision

At Manor Park CE FIrst School we are driven to engage and develop children as geographers. Our high-quality Geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives, supporting our school Vision Statement ‘Inspiring all to learn and grow.  Teaching will equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments.  As pupils progress, their growing knowledge of where places are and what they are like, will help them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between the Earth’s key physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments. Geographical vocabulary and knowledge provides the tools and approaches that explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.  Our children find out by asking questions, completing fieldwork, analysing what they have found out and reaching conclusions.  We are preparing our children to be able to express their well-balanced opinions about current and contemporary issues and present their findings in a creative way.
