Our Science Vision
At Manor Park CE First school we are driven to engage and develop the children as Scientists. Our vision is to give children a science curriculum which enables them to explore and discover the world around them, confidently, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in.
To achieve this it involves exciting, practical hands on experiences that encourage curiosity and questioning. Children are encouraged to think independently and work scientifically. Our aim is that through stimulating and challenging experiences children will secure and extend their scientific enquiry, promoting scientific vocabulary and knowledge. Pupils will be given the opportunity to read about and understand the application of science in past, present and future technologies.
Through community days, whole school events, trips and field work the children will plan and carry out scientific investigations . Their understanding will be demonstrated in written and verbal explanations, solving challenging problems and reporting scientific findings. Children will be encouraged to show high levels of originality, imagination or innovation in the application of skills.
We believe that these opportunities will ensure that our children are passionate, life long learners who will explore the world around them.
