Keeping children safe is paramount in Manor Park CE First School. It is the duty and responsibility of everyone to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Manor Park CE First School recognises the needs and wishes of every child will be put first. Safeguarding children and young people means protecting them from abuse or neglect, getting the right support in place as early as possible and creating an environment in which children and young people feel safe and healthy is our priority. We all have a personal responsibility to notice when a child or young person may be at risk of harm and pass our concerns to someone who can act to protect them. This is often with the knowledge of the parent however if there is a risk to the children then this referral would take place without advising parents.
Our staff and governors have been trained on safeguarding in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2021 document and have taken part in ‘Prevent’ training.
Please take time to look at our Child Protection policy on our School Policies page. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting Melanie Pallister (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Tina Hill, Clair Bolland, Esther Derrien and Laura Gillott (Deputy Safeguarding Leads) who will be able to provide you with support and advice.
If you have any concerns surrounding a child’s safety contact the Children’s Advice and Duty Service (CHaD) on 01305 228866
